Yukon - Movie
The Yukon Tavern Movie Night is taking the action up a notch with one of Hollywood’s most creative directors, Quentin Tarantino. On Tuesday, March 19th we’ll be showing his 2007 movie Death Proof.
This film was originally released as a partof a double feature with another exploitation film created in the tradition of the 1970s versions that were shown in a grindhouse theater. With a muscle car as the true star, high-octane action, and the violence that is common in this director’s work, we will be taken on a wild ride that is sure to end badly for its characters.
The Plot
Set in Austin, Texas, three girlfriends, Julia, Arlene and Shanna, meet in a bar to drink, smoke and make out with their boyfriends before traveling alone to Lake LBJ for a girls’ weekend. While at the bar they meet former Hollywood stuntman Mike. He invites  Pam a ride in his “death-proof” stunt car, a type of modified car used in the 70s exploitation films that protected the stuntmen from injury during their fast-paced crash scenes.
Yukon - March Movie3
Cut to fourteen months later and we find Mike in Lebanon, Tennessee in the midst of another chase, but this time his intended targets, Abernathy, Zoë and Kim, are a tougher, more determined match for the old-timer and decide to turn the tables on their attacker.

A Film for Movie Fans
Fans of cult classics love movies like Death Proof. It’s gritty, hard-core, and fun for all who love the seedy underworld of 1970’s Hollywood filmmaking, and Tarantino is today’s master of the genre. With a star-studded cast that includes Kurt Russell, Rose McGowan, Rosario Dawson, and famed stuntwoman Zoe Bell, this movie knows what viewers want and serves it up on a grimy, sleazy platter.
